In the realm of industrial transformations, it's not every day that a semi-dilapidated facility will emerge as a world-class galvanising plant. However, thanks to the combined efforts of Kingfield Equipment and Invent Design, we're on the cusp of witnessing just that.
Our partnership with Kingfield Equipment, a renowned provider of equipment for galvanising plants, has been nothing short of remarkable. Based in Victoria, they've trusted us to take their expansion plans to the next level. Today, we're excited to share the progress of the ongoing installation at the plant in Narangba, just north of Brisbane.
The Vision for DCI Galvanising Plant
The goal of this project is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The existing DCI plant, which has seen better days, is being overhauled to become a world-class galvanising facility. The transformation includes several key components:
1. Enclosed Room for Dipping Tanks: One of the most crucial aspects of galvanising is the dipping process, which exposes steel to molten zinc for corrosion protection. In this upgrade, we are creating an enclosed room to encapsulate the dipping tanks. This innovation not only enhances safety but also ensures precise temperature control for the galvanising process.
2. Ingress and Egress Trolleys: In the world of galvanising, flexibility is essential. To cater to a wide range of steel components, we are installing Ingress and Egress trolleys. These versatile trolleys allow for double dipping when required, facilitating a more efficient and effective galvanising process.
3. State-of-the-Art Hoists: To handle the heavy lifting, we've partnered with Scheffer Cranes to install two large hoists. These robust hoists run on monorails, specially designed to meet very tight tolerances across a broad span.
Successful Work in Progress
A critical phase of the project is almost complete with the erection of the spaceframe and roof support steel. While the installation of these key components is a significant milestone, there is still much work to be done and our teams are committed to maintaining the high standards we've set to transform this galvanising facility.
